Daily Create #tdc3050

I was inspired to take this picture by The Daily Create’s #tdc3050 #ds106 “Send us a picture of your lock-down holidays” tweet. Browsing through other people’s posts, I noticed a theme of the outdoors for the pictures. I wanted to capture the photo from inside, considering the COVID-19 pandemic has restricted people to mainly staying indoors. Looking out my window, I noticed how the sun was just visible behind the trees and casted their shadows down onto my driveway: a setting for my picture. This picture is one I am actually fond of now; it illustrates the outdoors and my yearning for wanting to be outside again, hiking through the woods or taking photos such as this one in nature. I used my phone to take this photo, however, I may consider using my camera next time I create a #ds106dc so I can receive better quality pictures out of this experience. Staying indoors during the COVID-19 pandemic has definitely been a battle in and of itself; there’s no going to see friends or family, no going to your favorite restaurant to get your favorite meal, no going to big events put on by your city or state. Despite this, I like to look ahead to what the future will hold once this all over: warmer weather, days spent hiking through the woods or kayaking along the Saco River, even days spent at the beach relaxing away. Positivity is something we all have to keep in mind during these tough times, we’re all in this together after all.
